Which service is best for me?

What is the case preparation?

Case preparation is:

  • Interviewing you once on the telephone to ascertain the circumstances of your case to be put into writing to brief the barrister;
  • Reviewing your documents and material evidence;
  • Ensuring that we have the necessary evidence that will be persuasive in your case (e.g. a letter from your employer)

What is representation?

Providing a barrister to the final hearing to persuade the court of your case, for example, to keep your licence.

Costs not included in the fixed priced services?

Our fixed fees do not include extras such as:

  • Experts reports;
  • Delays and duplication of work caused by you failing to turn up to court appearances;
  • Delays and duplication of work caused by the court adjourning your case;
  • Court (prosecution) costs and fines;
  • Obtaining evidence from third parties;
  • Preliminary hearings;
  • Site visits;
  • Appeals against any court decision given in your case;
  • Further telephone calls seeking advice or information;
  • Further court appearances.

How quickly do you respond?

We normally acknowledge your email enquiry immediately, but certainly within 24 hours. We call you to discuss your case as soon as we have received payment, but certainly within 24 hours.

Representation at Court

Who will represent me at Court?

If you require representation, Driving Law will book and instruct a barrister who is a specialist advocate in driving law cases. We will confirm the barrister in advance of the hearing.

What is a barrister?

A barrister (counsel) is a lawyer who specialises in court appearances.

Are barristers intimidating?

No. Driving Law’s barristers are carefully selected through experience and reputation. Your barrister will take you through what can be a very daunting experience so that you know what is happening at each stage of the hearing. They will answer any questions you have to ensure that the court appearance is as stress free as possible. Your barrister is there to defend your case.
